Selecting the right baby feeding bottle can be crucial to your baby’s ability to feel good and rest well. There are many bottles on the market, but the following seem to be the consensus as the best available.

BornFree Bisphenol-A Free

Both parents and professionals give the BornFree baby feeding bottle the seal of approval. They are made of plastic but do not contain BPA, a chemical that has been linked to health problems. Parents say that their babies seem to spit up less when using this bottle. Probably due to the valve and venting system. Those who use these baby feeding bottles say that they work well when switching from breast to bottle feeding. Its’ wide nipple base mimics the shape of a breast. The BornFree bottles have wide necks and less parts than some other bottles, which make them easy to clean.

The First Years Breastflow

This baby feeding bottle is a great solution for breastfeeding moms who want to supplement with a bottle and avoid nipple confusion for their child.  The First Years Breastflow bottle features a two layer nipple that forces a baby to use a nursing latch in order to drink out of it.  It can also be used to “train” babies to latch on to their mothers breast if they are having difficulty doing so.  These bottles do not contain any BPA and was the first of the major bottle manufacturers to discontinue using baby feeding bottles with BPA.

Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow

Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow baby feeding bottles are known for their unique design that utilizes a tube vent to help keep babies from swallowing air when they drink from them.  There has been alot of positive feedback from parents in regards to these bottles, which indicates that they do indeed improve the chances of colic.  The negative is that they are a little aggravating to clean and put together.  Unless you have a baby with gas problems, a less expensive, simpler bottle like the BornFree will probably work fine.  Dr. Brown’s bottles are also BPA free.

Evenflo Classic Glass Nurser

Unlike the specialty bottles above, the Evenflo Classic Glass Nurser is a simple and traditional baby feeding bottle.  This bottle is most popular because it is not made out of plastic and is BPA free, though most bottle manufacturers are now only selling BPA free products.
